Veterans and seniors in Broomfield could see new affordable housing in coming years

After positive reception from the City Council in an early step in the process for two potential developments, Broomfield could welcome more affordable housing units.

One of the developments presented to the council could provide affordable housing that a part of eastern Broomfield has been needing “for quite some time,” according to Councilmember Todd Cohen in the July 21 meeting.

The development’s planned location is 16453 Peak St., south of Baseline Road and north of Northwest Parkway. It could include over 300 units in two five-story buildings and another building for an onsite early childhood education center, according to a presentation from the development team in the meeting…
