Bodies of water in Broomfield are showing signs of the state’s dry and hot conditions with low water levels and rapid growth of algae in some reservoirs.
Due to the hot weather and other environmental conditions, officials posted signs about algae that can produce toxins at two reservoirs in Broomfield. The signs advise visitors to not touch the water, ingest it or let pets touch it, according to an email from city spokesperson Julie Story.
