A vehicle struck and killed a bear in a six-vehicle crash on U.S. 36 east of Boulder early Sunday morning.
The bear was hit around 2:45 a.m. near the eastbound 40.6 mile marker, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Ivan Alvarado. After that collision, five more vehicles crashed in the area west of the U.S. 36 scenic overlook and east of the South Cherryvale Road overpass, Alvarado wrote in an email.
No one was injured, and the road wasn’t closed, but tow trucks had to respond, according to Alvarado, who did not know how many vehicles were towed or to what extent they were damaged…
