This week, two of our most highly anticipated restaurants of the summer finally opened their doors, bringing exciting new blood to two of Denver’s biggest dining nighborhoods. That includes Bonanno’s Concept’s Romyo Japanese-Italian fusion eater, anchoring Larimer Square in the former Ted’s Montana Grill space, which made a significant first impression already.
Another is the fancy Champagne wine bar La Vie En Rose in RiNo, boasting one of the largest by-the-bottle Champagne lists in the state at over 120 options, along with a long list of wines by the glass. But as striking as the decor and the wine program are, the highlight here is the impressively thoughtful food pairing menu they’ve put together to ensure every bite that comes out of the kitchen complements the wines they serve.
Finally, we’ll note that another installment of famed pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani’s Slice House has opens in Longmont today, which is notable primarily because the town played host to last weekends inaugural Colorado Pizza Festival. According to reports, the festival struggled a bit with long lines and logical challenges driven by a turnout of nearly 9,000 people (vs expectations of around 5,000), prompting organizers to post a apology/explaination on its website. But, while the event is over, Slice House is open, with likely slightly shorter lines.
