Pinnochios Restaurant Founder Sentenced To 10 Years For 8 Counts Of Security Fraud

Annie Vick, the founder of Pinocchios restaurant and Delvickios, was sentenced to 10 years in community corrections after being convicted on eight counts of security fraud. Vick was originally indicted for the crimes on January 25, 2024 and released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.

Vick told people she was a successful options trader and solicited investors. She issued promissory notes offering 5-10% returns each month for investors. Vick solicited approximately $3 million from approximately 25 investors. She mixed the money from her investors with her personal funds and restaurant bank accounts. She used these funds to pay credit cards and repaid earlier investors with money from new investors. Vick continued to mislead and misrepresent her investment performance and the risks associated with her trading strategies. Vick has been in custody since March 13 when a Weld County jury found her guilty.

Vick did not have a license to sell securities and never informed her investors of that fact. Judge Vincente Vigil said her trading strategies were more like gambling than investing. Vick said she didn’t intend to steal the money, but she realized her good intentions did not always lead to good choices…
