ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A search for a missing swimmer picked back up on Saturday morning on St. Pete Beach, authorities said.
A man was last seen entering the water at around 7 p.m. on Friday, according to one of his friends.
Lightning strike kills 1, injures 3 others near Florida beach
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said the friend left the area, and when he returned, could no longer see the man in the water and could not reach him by cell phone.
Deputies were also unable to locate him in the surrounding area or at any nearby businesses.
