NOKOMIS, Fla. (WWSB) – A lifeguard tower at Nokomis Beach North caught fire Thursday after it was struck by lightning, according to Sarasota County Government.
Citizens and staff had already been evacuated from the beach because of the storm before the strike occurred, the county said. No injuries were reported.
