SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) -Sarasota and Manatee counties are in for a hot, mostly dry stretch through the work week. A surge of dry air high in the atmosphere is cutting down on afternoon shower and storm activity, and when storms do pop up, they’re falling apart quickly.
What to Expect This Week
Monday brought scattered showers to Palmetto and Bradenton, but they didn’t last long. Storms were only reaching about 30,000 feet before tapping into the dry air above and breaking apart. Even though some lightning was generated, the storms fizzled out fast. This pattern will continue through the rest of the week.
Here’s what that means for you: Leave the umbrella at home most days, but stay alert during afternoon hours just in case a quick shower develops.
