Manatee County couple makes history with first locally designated historic landmark

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — History has been made for one Manatee County couple.

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the Historic Johnson Helm House in Bradenton as the county’s first locally designated historic landmark.

Margi Nanney and her husband, Pat, have lived in the historic Oneco neighborhood home for 41 years. Nanney said it was important for them to restore the home to its original state and preserve more than a century of history.

“The personal commitment for Pat and I was just to give it what it deserved. The home deserved to have itself the way it’s built,” Nanney said…
