Palmetto man pleads guilty to straw purchase of handgun

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Palmetto man pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a federally licensed firearm dealer after prosecutors said he bought a handgun on behalf of a juvenile.

Desmin Terrell Belvin Jr., 21, admitted to the charge in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
