Manatee County targets pedestrian and bicycle crash hot spots

BRADENTON, Fla. — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is increasing patrols in 33 high-risk traffic areas as the county ranks among the top 25 in Florida for serious and fatal pedestrian and bicycle crashes.

The agency received a $78,000 grant to pay for the high-visibility enforcement campaign, which will continue through May 2027. It has been an effort for seven years now. For this year, the targeted areas include 26th Avenue West in Bradenton.
