Manatee County to hold safety study for El Conquistador Parkway after cyclist death

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County officials are holding a safety study for El Conquistador Parkway after a 67-year-old cyclist was killed when he was hit by a truck.

Patrick Franklin died while riding his bicycle on the roadway. County staff said they expect many residents to attend the meeting to voice concerns about speeding and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.
