NYPD sergeant again accused of choking girlfriend: DA

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — An NYPD sergeant is accused of choking and punching his girlfriend months after a previous arrest for allegedly attacking her, authorities said.

Sgt. Tahino Sotomayor, 48, was arrested Thursday for allegedly beating the woman multiple times inside his Queens apartment from April 4 to May 18, according to the criminal complaint.

Sotomayor allegedly choked and punched his girlfriend in his Vietor Avenue apartment on May 4. Two weeks later, he allegedly hit her in the back of the head with a phone battery and kicked her in the legs, according to the complaint.
