Clock is ticking for SNAP recipients as rule changes hit

HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) — The clock is ticking for some SNAP recipients in the tri-state area.

Harlem is a neighborhood with a lot of people the new SNAP rules are aimed at: adults who live alone and don’t have children at home.

Starting June 1, some adults ages 18 to 64 may begin losing SNAP benefits if they don’t have a child under 14 at home and don’t qualify for a medical exemption.
