Gap Inc. is closing several Old Navy stores after the company’s seasonal women’s dress business underperformed during the first quarter of 2026, prompting the retail giant to adjust its footprint and strategy, the Street reports.
The company will permanently close its Old Navy store in the Logan Valley Mall in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on June 23, according to WTAJ-TV. The closure follows the Jan. 22 shuttering of an Old Navy store at 48th Street and Northern Boulevard in Queens, New York. Gap Inc. also plans to close a Gap location on Lakeshore Ave. in Oakland, California, in summer 2026 when its lease expires, according to KGO-TV.
The company did not provide a specific reason for the Altoona closure or reveal the number of affected employees, the Street .
