STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Michael Anthony Boyd was critically injured 27 years ago when he was hit on the head with a shovel during an assault in Mariners Harbor.
Boyd succumbed to his injuries at age 59 on Dec. 27, 2025. His death was deemed a homicide in April 2026 by the medical examiner, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
