STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you block the fire lane, straddle two spots or commit any kind of parking job that simply “looks stupid,” one Staten Island vigilante pledges to share the outrageous offense with more than 2,000 social media followers.
Staten Island Bad Parking, a homegrown Facebook page that has called out hundreds of bad parking jobs across the borough during its two-year lifespan, is focused on finding and exposing some of New York City’s worst parkers.
“The worst offenses are the fire zones where pedestrians have to cross and walk into the parking lot, but they have to worry about cars swinging into the fire zone,” the page’s creator noted via DM, an interview option aimed at protecting their anonymity.
“Another alarming thing is how many people defend the bad parking with absurd reasoning,” they noted.
The page was born after the creator was spurned by “inconsiderate” neighbors who blocked their driveway and walkway. The content maker says there has been a ton of support for the page, with followers consistently sending them pics and tips, but critics have also been vocal…
