Some checks have already gone out for New York’s School Tax Relief Program, which applies to homeowners who make under $500,000 per year. For households with residents over 65, the salary cap is $113,550 for 2027.

Most STAR-enrolled homeowners should expect checks between $350 and $600, according to the governor’s office. People who receive Enhanced STAR should expect checks between $700 and $1,500. The checks will arrive in time to pay school taxes.
