LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A one-year-old Acadiana boy is headed to the big apple after being selected to appear on a Times Square billboard as part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk.
For Briez and his family, the honor is about much more than seeing his picture displayed in New York City. They hope it will inspire others to see the abilities of children with Down syndrome rather than their diagnosis.
“My baby is awesome. He’s phenomenal. He’s amazing,” said Briez’s mother, Lakendra Leopaul. “He goes above and beyond therapy. He does all, and he’s exceeding all of it.”…
