‘Jacob’s name will not be forgotten’: Family of slain Bronx boy pushes for change

Exactly two weeks after 12-year-old Jacob Freytes was tragically killed, his family joined local leaders to push for change through new proposed legislation.

“Jacob’s Law” was unveiled at a press conference Saturday outside of the Bronx bodega where Jacob was shot by a stray bullet. The proposal would increase penalties for those whose reckless actions result in the death of a child.
