CROWN HEIGHTS (PIX11) — A man is dead after an explosion and fire broke out at a NYCHA complex in Brooklyn on Friday night, according to police.
The fire was reported on the 12th floor of 162 Troy Ave. at the Albany Houses near Prospect Place in Crown Heights just after 7 p.m., fire officials said.

A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, police and fire officials reported.
“I was talking to the mother last week…we was having good talk about our kids. And that’s messed up how we both moved here young with our small children and for her to lose one…that is tremendous,” said one resident who knew the family of the victim.
