American Airlines flight aborts takeoff from LaGuardia: FAA

QUEENS (PIX11) — An American Airlines flight aborted its takeoff from LaGuardia Airport Thursday morning due to a reported bird strike, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA said the Boeing 737-800 was about to take off at around 8:20 a.m. for Chicago O’Hare when the crew reported the strike.

An American Airlines spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. Authorities said FAA officials will investigate the incident.
