A New York City track worker was struck and dragged to her death by a D train late Thursday night while setting up flags to warn of subway construction ahead, city and union officials said.
Moet McCullum, a 41-year-old construction flagger, was hit just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the 161st Street–Yankee Stadium station in The Bronx, the MTA said. She was taken in critical condition by emergency medical workers to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
McCullum is the first worker to die on the tracks since November 2023, when 57-year-old Hilarion Joseph was hit by a D train while he was on flagging duties at Manhattan’s 34th Street–Herald Square station.
