Duo robs, stabs mom in front of son in afternoon SI home invasion

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880) – Police released photos on Thursday of a man and woman who they say violently broke into a Staten Island home and attacked a mother, stabbing her in the leg earlier this week.

The home invasion happened on Monday at around 2:34 p.m. when two unknown individuals broke into a home near Hygeia Place and Boyd Street in Stapleton Heights by forcing open the front door, police said.

Once they got inside, the suspects started to punch the victim, a 23-year-old woman, who was inside the house with her son.

One of the suspects then stabbed the victim in the leg and stole her money, cell phone, social security card, wallet, and an EBT card, according to the police report.

The thieves then ran away from the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition.

Police are now looking for the two suspects.

The male suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and a black ski mask.

The female suspect was last seen wearing a black sweater, black sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.
