Failure to meet dissolution specifications may indicate that the pill doesn’t deliver the correct dosage over time, that batch consistency is compromised, or that the absorption rate of the active ingredient into the bloodstream is affected, according to industry guidance.
This may cause problems for patients who are on the popular drug, as alprazolam is one of the most commonly prescribed benzodiazepines in the United States, according to a study published by the National Institutes of Health.
