Macy’s in Manhasset Erupts in Violence as Alleged Shoplifting Confrontation Ends with Worker Injured, Two Arrested

The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of two females for an incident that occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 3:13 pm in Manhasset.

According to Detectives, Defendant Diane Butrico, 60, of Astoria and Defendant Jaclyn Grillo, 21, of Astoria entered Macy’s located at 1100 Northern Boulevard. The defendants selected various merchandise and concealed the items in a reusable bag. The defendants then attempted to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without rendering payment, but were met by Asset Protection.

Asset Protection agents confronted the defendant Jaclyn Grillo who then threatened and shoved an employee to the ground causing an injury to his arm. Both defendants were placed under arrest.

Defendant Jaclyn Grillo is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Assault on a Retail Worker. She will be arraigned on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead…
