An 83-year-old man was beaten at a Bronx bus stop in broad daylight on Monday, and police say they are now searching for a woman caught on camera in the attack. The assault left the senior with bruises and small lacerations to the head, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities listed his condition as stable, but the daytime violence has alarmed commuters and residents in the neighborhood.
According to the NYPD, the incident unfolded around 1:30 p.m. as the man was exiting a BX35 bus near Southern Boulevard and East 167th Street. Police say the suspect approached and shoved him, then repeatedly kicked him, including kicks to the head. Detectives have circulated surveillance stills and a clothing description: the woman has red hair and was last seen wearing all-black clothing with a green coat. They are asking the public to help identify her. Investigators have not announced any arrests and say the probe is ongoing, per amNewYork.
