(NewsNation) — A New York woman faces up to 25 years in prison after authorities say she threw an explosive into her boyfriend’s bedroom while he was asleep, causing him to lose a hand.
A jury found Keyonna Waddell, 35, guilty of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, both in the first degree, stemming from a March 2024 incident, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office announced in a release.
Evidence presented in the trial revealed that Waddell and the victim had gotten into an argument inside his apartment, according to the release. Following the dispute, Waddell left and told the victim to leave as well.
