SOUTHINGTON — A New York City man was arrested Monday after attempting to cash a forged check worth $7,500 at a credit union on Queen Street, police said.
Julian James, 44, of the Bronx, was taken into custody around 4 p.m. at the American Eagle Credit Union, according to a Facebook post shared by the Southington Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the credit union for a report of an individual attempting to impersonate a customer while cashing a check and arrived to find James.
When officers approached, James attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended following a brief struggle, police said. No injuries were reported…
