A 40-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and killed early Friday on White Plains Road in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, according to police. Officers arrived just after 6:30 a.m. and found the man with a neck wound. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators say the suspected attacker took off from the scene on a bicycle and is described as a man in his 30s.
Police responded to the block early Friday and confirmed the victim’s age and injuries, according to News 12. As detectives canvass the area for witnesses and surveillance footage, no arrests have been announced.
Recent violence near White Plains Road
The killing comes on the heels of other violent incidents in Wakefield this year, including a fatal assault at the Muller Residences. In that earlier case, Hoodline reported growing concern among residents about late-night trouble along the corridors that feed into White Plains Road.
