Police are asking for the public’s help after a quick-hit chain snatching in front of 600 Mace Avenue, where two people approached a 47-year-old woman and ripped a necklace from her neck on Monday, March 30, at about 6:38 p.m. The pair took off running eastbound on Mace Avenue. Detectives later circulated surveillance stills in mid May as part of a wanted alert.

According to Facebook, the two unidentified suspects grabbed the victim’s necklace, then bolted eastbound on Mace Avenue. The post shares still photos of the people of interest and lists the tip lines: 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), a Spanish line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), and an online form at CrimeStoppers.nypdonline.org.
The city’s Crime Stoppers program, administered by the Police Foundation, offers rewards of up to $3,500 for anonymous information that leads to an arrest and indictment, according to the NYPD. The agency notes that its @NYPDTips account regularly posts wanted images and details on sending in internet tips.

This incident is one of several recent Bronx robberies featured in Crime Stoppers bulletins. Local coverage has followed similar wanted alerts and urged neighbors to save any camera footage that might help detectives connect the dots.
