Norwood: Two Men Hospitalized and Later Arrested after Fight on East Gun Hill Road

Two men were hospitalized and later charged with assault following a fight in the Norwood section of The Bronx in the early hours of Tuesday, May 19, police said. An NYPD spokesperson said there are two complaints on file for assaults that took place on May 19 in front of 301 East Gun Hill Road, a mixed use, residential and commercial building which houses a dental business at street level.

According to police complaint reports, officers responded to a 911 call at around 00.40 a.m. regarding an assault in progress at the location. “Upon arrival, it was determined that two men got into a physical altercation,” the spokesperson said. “A 35-year-old male sustained a laceration to his lip and swelling to his face.”

The spokesperson continued, “A 39-year-old male stated he was struck in the face and sustained swelling, a minor bleeding to his lip. When police arrived, they observed the 39-year-old in possession of a drywall tool. Both males were transported to area hospitals for treatment.”…
