Late-Night Grand Concourse Killing Shakes Fordham Heights

A man was shot to death early Thursday in Fordham Heights, turning a quiet stretch of the Grand Concourse into an active crime scene before dawn, police said.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire shortly after 2:30 a.m. and found the victim near 2150 Grand Concourse. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition and later died, according to News 12 New York. The outlet reports the man had gunshot wounds to his chest and groin.

Detectives remained on the block through the morning as the investigation continued.
