NYPD Officer shot in Brooklyn, suspect in custody

An NYPD officer was shot early Sunday morning near the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and St. Johns Place in Brooklyn, according to police.

The shooting occurred at approximately 4:14 a.m. The officer was struck in his bulletproof vest and transported to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say he is expected to be okay.

Police have not yet released additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting. A suspect is in custody, and charges are pending…
