NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) – Five cars were rescued from floodwaters in Newark on Saturday morning, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda.
First responders received multiple 911 calls around 11:55 a.m. reporting cars trapped in a flooded area at Frelinghuysen Avenue and McClellan Avenue, officials said.

Police and firefighters responded and removed the drivers and passengers from the vehicles to safety. No injuries were reported, according to authorities.
