NEW YORK (PIX11) — A teenage girl has been seriously hurt after subway surfing in Queens.
The 16-year-old was with a group of teens when she climbed on top of a southbound A train Wednesday afternoon, according to witnesses.

As the train pulled into the Broad Channel station and passed beneath the overpass, the teen slammed into the overhead beam. The impact left a dent. She managed to avoid devastating injuries, missing pipes and jagged nails that could have impaled her.
Firefighters had to wait for the MTA to cut power to the third rail before getting to her. It took more than 10 minutes before rescuers were given the all-clear. Straphangers realized she was alive when crews got to her, and she screamed in pain…
