After a run of pleasant summer weather, the chance for severe storms returned Monday evening and stretches through Tuesday, bringing with it the threat of flash flooding, damaging winds — and even possible tornadoes.
There will be some isolated cells of severe weather rolling through the area Monday night, triggering multiple weather alerts. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Manhattan and the Bronx until 7:45 p.m. Flash flood warnings were issued for Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester County, as well as Bergen and Hudson counties in New Jersey, until at least 10:15 p.m. Monday.
