STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Twenty-five years after firefighter Stephen Siller’s sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001, his brother, Frank Siller, chairperson and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, has written a memoir that shines a light on the man behind the hero.
In his memoir “Let Us Do Good,” scheduled for release Sept. 1, 2026, from Broadside Books, Siller traces Stephen’s childhood, family life, faith and personal struggles long before the events that made him a national symbol of courage.
Stephen Siller is etched in American history now as the heroic off-duty New York City firefighter and father of five who chose to run through the Hugh Carey Tunnel (then the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel) to the World Trade Center carrying 60 pounds of gear on that terrifying day, ultimately losing his life in the effort to save others…
