Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through the New York City area beginning Sunday night and continuing into Monday, according to an AccuWeather meteorologist.
AccuWeather meteorologist Peyton Simmers said residents should expect periods of heavy rain, with 2 to 4 inches of rain from showers and thunderstorms. The rainfall could lead to poor drainage and flooding in low-lying areas.
