“A neighborhood coffee and bookstore”: Evangeline Coffee and Books to Open in Housatonic this Fall

Housatonic – “Evangeline is my middle name. It means ‘messenger of good news’ in Greek,” Sara Parker told The Berkshire Edge of her much-anticipated bookstore, Evangeline Coffee and Books. “And why wouldn’t you want a messenger of good news in your community?”

Opening on 137 Front Street in Housatonic, Evangeline Coffee and Books will house 4,000 books, stationary and puzzles, “really good pens,” and knick-knacks and bric-a-brac.

Visitors to the bookstore can expect to see new and noteworthy titles, which will include some of Parker’s top picks: “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel Van Der Kolk; “The Relunctant Fundamentalist” by Mohsin Hamid; “Welcome to the Desert of the Real” by Slavoj Žižek; “The Books of Earthsea” by Ursual K. Le Guin; “Traveling Mercies” by Anne Lamott; “All About Love” by bell hooks; and “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab…
