Men accused in ‘Upscale Cracc’ murder, stealing Rolex and other jewelry: Bragg

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Two men are accused of fatally shooting Javier Osorio-Mejia, a popular sneaker reseller “ Upscale Cracc ,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced on Thursday.

Jayquan Straker, 35, of Brooklyn, and 28-year-old Marc Haygood, of Rochester, allegedly stole his jewelry and Rolex, then left him to die, officials said.

“As alleged, Marc Haygood and Jayquan Straker planned a violent murder as they followed Mr. Osorio-Mejia into Manhattan, stealing jewelry off his body after fatally shooting him,” Bragg said. “Mr. Osorio-Mejia was a well-known sneaker seller, entrepreneur, and father whose life was cut short in this senseless tragedy. I send my deepest condolences to Mr. Osorio-Mejia’s family and friends as they mourn his loss.”

Osorio-Mejia, a sneaker reseller with over 50,000 followers on Instagram, was shot in SoHo back in June, police said.

Straker and Haygood allegedly followed Osorio-Mejia from a Queens club in a rented gray sedan. Investigators believe there was a chase at some point. The suspects allegedly pulled up next to Osorio-Mejia’s vehicle and shot at him three times, authorities said.
