A 44-year-old man was pistol-whipped and shots were fired inside a Bushwick apartment building Friday night, a violent confrontation that sent him to the hospital but left him expected to recover. The attack happened just after 7 p.m. at 1185 Bushwick Ave. EMS took the victim to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.
According to police, the 44-year-old was hit in the head with a gun by someone he knew, then the attacker squeezed off multiple rounds inside the building. No one else was struck by the gunfire, authorities said, according to News 12 New York. The NYPD says the investigation is still active, with detectives canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance video as they try to piece together what set off the brazen assault.
