Fire breaks out at NYC theater, FDNY says

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A fire broke out at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to a second‑alarm fire involving a large amount of electrical material at the Broadway theater around 10 a.m., according to the FDNY.

One firefighter had minor injuries after the fire. No other injuries were reported, and all theater staff were safely evacuated, FDNY officials said.

The building will be out of service during repairs. The FDNY did not specify how long that will take. The theater is home to “The Book of Mormon,” “Hamilton” and several other Broadway shows…
