FDNY responds to boat in distress in waters off Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY assisted a boat in distress early Sunday morning, according to a spokesperson for the department.

The emergency call came in around 8:30 a.m. for a boat near Sandy Hook that was taking on water, according to the spokesperson.
