There are certain things Western New Yorkers just expect to exist. Chicken wings on every corner. Snow in April. And Chrusciki Bakery.
Well, one of those things is gone.
The beloved Polish bakery out of Depew, a Buffalo staple since 1987, officially closed its doors on May 31. Owner Ania Duchon, who started working in the family business at age 11 and took over from her parents in 2010, says the time was simply right. She has a mom who needs more of her time, two grown sons who have their own paths, and a third grandchild on the way.
