Buffalo man arrested after alleged armed robbery in Amherst, police chase

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man is facing a slew of charges after an alleged armed robbery followed by a police chase in Amherst early Tuesday morning, Amherst Police said.

Police responded to an armed robbery call around 2:30 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store at 2159 Niagara Falls Blvd. A victim told police that a man allegedly attempted to use counterfeit money to make a purchase before showing a knife to a clerk and stealing money from the cash register.

Police located the suspect, who allegedly led officers on a chase through Amherst and Tonawanda. Officers then used a tire deflation device to bring the suspect’s vehicle to a stop…
