BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from Depew pleaded guilty to entering a secure area at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, including active runways where aircraft take off and land, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said on Tuesday.
Officials said 45-year-old James Muench drove his car to a closed security gate outside of the airport in May 2025. He stopped at the metal gate at first before ramming his car into the gate several times, bending it.
Muench drove through the gate after damaging it, entering the aircraft operational area of the airport. Officials said he drove through several secure parts of the airport, including the airfield roads, aircraft taxiways, commercial passenger aircraft ramp area and active airport runways…
