BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two Buffalo teenagers are facing charges after two stolen vehicles were recovered in Riverside Park Tuesday morning, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to a call from Grand Island about a stolen vehicle around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Officials said deputies tracked the missing Ford Explorer to Riverside Park, when three subjects allegedly fled on foot. Two 17-year-olds were taken into custody following a brief pursuit; a second vehicle that was allegedly stolen from a second Grand Island residence was also found near the Ford Explorer.
The two teenagers were charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, issued appearance tickets, and released to their parents, officials said.
