BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan said Thursday that the city is moving forward with possible legal action against the owner of the former St. Ann’s Church on Emslie Street.
The vacant building caught fire twice in the past week, including a blaze that investigators determined was intentionally set. City officials are now focused on enforcing property maintenance and security requirements while awaiting a court appearance by the owner.
Ryan said the City of Buffalo is currently in “enforcement mode” to ensure the property’s owner fulfills their responsibility to properly maintain and secure the building.
