Erie County officials say new policies are being put in place to regulate its fleet of vehicles. This policy allows elected officials like the county sheriff to adopt their own supplemental procedures.
The decision was made after an audit showed 365 county vehicles couldn’t be located or verified, and there was also widespread noncompliance with take-home vehicles.
